Here are the 2011 - 2012 winners, as announced at the IASL meeting. According to Sarah Latcham, who is head of the Awards Committee...
"The new 2012-2013 books have not been delivered by Perfection Learning, yet, but will be out soon so libraries that ordered through the IEC bid may not have many of the books already. Students can begin reading for the next list anytime. Voting for 2012-2013 will open again in late February or early March 2013 with the deadline at the end of March and the winners announced at the next IASL conference in the spring."

The ICCA winner, Smile is in such bad shape, I am regretting not buying another copy to have it ready for next fall. All students in grade 3-5 LOVED it and fought over it. The graphic formatic is very appealing to them. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you get the books from Perfection? I got them from Follett as soon as the list came out, and then added some from my own collection.
DeleteBTW, who are you, Anonymous?
Are the break down lists going to be available?
ReplyDeleteI would like to report to my kids how many votes each book received. Thanks Lisa Jansma
I assume that you are referring to the break down of the votes for each title? This is up to the chairs of each award to post. I am aware that the Goldfinch has posted the top 3 vote-getters. This is probably all that will be posted, but I can check with the other chairs to see what they think about it.
DeleteThanks for your interest in the Book Awards! My SMILE is also falling apart and I had to order another copy as well! :) It's great to see kids excited about reading!
