The IASL Conference Planning Committee is
delighted to announce that Barbara Stripling will be the keynote speaker for third annual IASL spring conference.
Stripling is well-known for her Inquiry Model, was a school librarian for 20 years, and recently left her job as Director
of the New York City Library Program to become a faculty member at Syracuse University. She is a former president of
AASL, and is currently running for president of ALA. We are very fortunate to have her coming to Iowa.
Individuals are invited to submit proposals for these sessions. The sessions
will be held on Monday, April 16, and will last 50 minutes.
Presentations should address one of these learning
strands: Inquiry/Information Literacy, Literature/Literacy, Technology, and Library Management.
In addition, the
schedule on Monday includes a 40 minute period for "table sessions" where individuals or groups set up a display
and share their ideas with participants who stop by.
If you are interested in presenting a concurrent session or
a table session, submit your proposal describing the content of your session by Thursday, March 1. The online proposal
form is available at:
http://tinyurl.com/IASLConference-2012A selection committee will review the proposals and select those for inclusion in this year’s conference.
The results will be communicated to applicants by March 6, 2012. Thank you for considering this!
